Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation and The Center at Kentucky Highlands were proud to participate in the SOAR Summit last week in Corbin.
We share our partner SOAR’s goals of uniting leaders, innovators and changemakers dedicated to driving economic growth, innovation and opportunity throughout Eastern Kentucky. The summit’s networking event, inspiring sessions and meaningful connections will enrich our partnerships and inform our strategies for the coming year.
There also was an exciting announcement: Kentucky will receive Abandon Mine Land Revitalization grants totaling more than $25 million. Of that, $11 million – equaling 45 percent of the total announced – was awarded to the KHIC service area. This new investment will help spur economic and community development throughout the region.
